Mastercraft was founded in 1971 in Shipshewana, Indiana, by Dale Reynolds. One of the factories is still located at that location. Dale knew he could immediately make waves in the struggling RV furniture market by upping the quality level immediately. From frame to fabric, he improved every aspect of standard RV furnishings and gained many customers that remain loyal to this day.

Dale’s family joined Mastercraft in 1981. A fresh perspective, especially to mobile home interiors, helped introduced new design ideas that the industry had never seen. Perceptions about RVs and the industry were slowly changing thanks to Mastercraft’s innovative approach to style and practicality. The company continued to improve quality even further in the 1990s and 2000s, establishing a lifetime guarantee on furniture frames, which stands today. In 2003, Mastercraft was dealt a blow with a fire that destroyed 80% of its manufacturing capability. However, because of the dedication and midwest work ethic of the Mastercraft employees, the company continues today to be a leader in the RV business, keeping innovation and value as its top priority.
